Grief & Loss

Loss of a loved one, your health,

your relationship, your identity,

or something you deeply cared for.

Grief and Loss is felt deep within us. It disrupts our sense of safety, may provoke unanswered questions, and often causes us to question our spirituality or life meaning. Grief is experienced following the loss of a loved one, but it can also be brought on due to an illness, divorce/separation, unmet life expectations, loss of identity, or a significant life change, that has caused you to feel sad, despondent, or stuck.

Have you recently lost someone or something you cared deeply about?

Have you recently experienced a significant loss causing you to feel emotional and/or physical pain, impacting your ability to concentrate, sleep, feel pleasure/enjoyment, or connect with others around you? You are not alone.

Most of us have experienced grief and loss during some time in our life, causing us to question our purpose, life meaning, or feelings of confusion and despondency. Grief counseling could be helpful if you are experiencing any of the symptoms below:

  • Feeling helpless, hopeless, and questioning life’s purpose

  • Increasingly isolating, unable to experience pleasure, and finding it difficult to engage in and complete daily activities

  • Having flashbacks, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, or difficulty concentrating

  • Experiencing complicated grief, possibly related to a complicated relationship, a traumatic loss, or unmet questions

  • Feel your grief has turned into ongoing depression

How counseling can help (You don’t have to brave it alone!)

Attending counseling allows you a safe space to process your loss and walk through the stages of grief, while learning coping skills to help you find healing, meaning, new purpose, and once again feel pleasure and life satisfaction. “Grief never ends, but it changes. It’s a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith. It is the price of love. “
